It was "Precious" for Geoffrey Fletcher, the First African-American Screenwriter to Win the Academy Award
Geoffrey Fletcher, the screenwriter of "Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire," is the first African-American screenwriter to win an Academy Award. He won the award in a category where he was considered an "underdog".
